Summary of the action from Week 15 of the LIGA 11-A-Side Leagues

The last week of league fixtures of the LIGA for the 2012/13 season had seen six games scheduled to be played, two in each league. However, course commitments saw the number of available teams reduced to seven, as Quantity Surville, Brack City, Bayer Lexerkusen, Bayer Neverloosen and Dynamo Chicken Kiev were all unable to field teams. The upshot of this was the Quantity Surville lost their unbeaten record, Brack City were confirmed as relegated to LIGA B, Futsal were put in pole position for promotion to LIGA A, and AFC Botton were confirmed as playing in the NTU Cup after Easter.

The remaining competitive game saw Kings Of Leon Osman face Table Tennis Society, with KOLO looking to preserve their unbeaten record in LIGA B and Table Tennis looking to secure the win they needed to finish in second place. Table Tennis attacked the game for the full 90 minutes, but were unable to or prevented from capitalizing on their possession and the large number of chances they created, whilst KOLO were as ruthless and efficient as they had been all year, scoring 4 goals... from the only 4 shots they had all game, to leave the final score as 4-1.

Two toehr games were played though in Week 15, as friendly games were arranged between ACS and History Society, and AFC Botton and BSOC Bulldogz. All four teams were fielding under-strength teams due to players again being missing with course commitments. ACS and History played out an entertaining game that finished 3-1 in History's favour, whilst BSOC Bulldogz beat AFC Botton 11-1 (though BSOC were bolstered somewhat by returning players...).

With the league competitions now completed attention now turns to the inaugeral cup competitions, with the top half of each league competing for the NTU Cup, and the bottom half playing for the NTU Plate, with Quarter Finals taking place on 10th April, Semi-Finals on 17th April and the two finals being held at Clifton Campus on 1st May.

Draw wise, in the NTU Cup, Quantity Surville play FC Futsal, History Society meet Table Tennis Society, Mathematic Bilbao face Kings Of Leon Osman and AFC Botton play ACS. In the NTU Plate BSOC All Stars will play Dynamo Chicken Kiev, Bayer Neverloosen play namesakes Bayer Lexerkusen, Brack City face off against Red Stripe Belgrade and BSOC Bulldogz play Average Joe's.

Additionally on 24th April an All Star Game between the best of the NTU Inter-Mural players the BUCS Men's Varsity squad will take place, with the fixture being scheduled to be held at Magdala's ROKO ground. Initial squad selection has begun to take place, but all players and managers not playing are invited to come down and watch the game. Watch this space for more details...
