Summary of the action from Week 11 of NTU's Serie 6-a-side competition

As the SERIE 6-a-side league passed the halfway stage six games were played that all helped to shape the league at both ends of the table.

At 4pm the much anticipated meeting between And The Winners Are and Le Saux Solid Crew, the top two teams in the league, took place. Both teams put together their customary brands of football, as the two goalkeepers each pulled off a string of saves. However the game was ultimately decided by a fifteen yard bullet of a shot from Le Saux Solid's captain Ben Cronin which flew past the Winners goalkeeper before he could even move, leaving the final score 2-1 in Le Saux Solid's favour. The win lifted Le Saux Solid above Winners in the table, though Winners second game of the day had the potential to change that.

In the second 4pm game Barlows Big Boys picked up their second win in three games, this time beating Ale Madrid 4-1 to move up to eight in the league.

At 4.40 And The Winenrs Are played their second game of the day as they met block mates Borussia Teeth. This time the result came out in their favour as they won 5-1 to move back to the top of the league.

At the same time on the other pitch Schneefers again showed the bad luck that has plagued them all year as they faced Tekkerslovakia. Having lost their last two games by a single goal the same fate befell them again as they lost 3-2, with the second goal being a comical own goal that left even the Schneefers supporters laughing. Tekkerslovakia's win left them in third place in the league, just one point behind And The Winners Are, whilst Schneefers drop to ninth.

At 5.20 Portugeezers were incredibly unfortunate to lose to H What FC. The final score finished 3-2 in H What's favour, but one of their goals came as the Portugeezers goalkeeper was kicking the ball being used in the game on the next pitch!

The final game of the day saw Borussia Teeth play their second game of the day, this time against Is Your Motherwell who were looking to complete their first game for three weeks, following a forfeited match and one suspended early due to an injury. Any ring-rustyness that Motherwell had accumulated was soon blown away as they won 8-1 to move back up to 5th in the table.

As the league enters the downhill stretch next week, with all of the 11 remaining teams yet to play each other a second time, some big games take place straight away as four of the top five play each other. Tekkerslovakia play Le Saux Solid Crew at 4pm before And The Winners Are play Is Your Motherwell at 5.20. In between Barlow's Big Boys play Ale Madrid, Borussia Teeth face Schneefers and Globo Gym Purple Cobras meet Portugeezers.
