SERIE 6-a-side Week 7 Update

Summary of the action from Week 7 of NTU's Serie 6-a-side competition

Despite Ay Bird FC and 2 Goals 1 Cup being unable to play this week saw six fixtures played that had a huge effect on both the top and bottom of the Serie.

At 4pm Le Saux Solid Crew continued their unbeaten run, this time at the expense of Borussia Teeth, winning 4-2 to open up a six point gap on their opponents. The 4-2 scoreline was repeated in 4pm's other game as Schneefers broke a three game losing streak against bottom side Ale Madrid, though Ale have gone a long way to picking up the funniest goal of the year award as a fifteen yard shot skipped up off an area marker and flew threw Schneefers goalkeepers legs.

At 4.40 H What's poor run of form continued as they were beaten 3-0 by And The Winners Are. Having won the first three games of the season, H What have only picked up one point from the last four games and failed to score in the last three... At the same time their were jubilant scenes on Pitch 2 as Barlow's Big Boys won thier first game of the season 3-0 against Globo Gym Purple Cobras.

In the final games of the day And The Winners Are and Globo Gym Purple Cobras played their second game of the week as they faced each other. Unfortunately for Globo Gym both teams carried their form from the 4.40 game into this one, with And The Winners Are running out comfortable winners 9-0. The final game of the day was second vs third as Tekkerslovakia played Is Your Motherwell. Both sides had lost last week, but it was Motherwell who bounced back strongest beating Tekkerslovakia 6-2 to maintain their 1 point gap behind Le Saux Solid Crew.

Week 7's Team Of The Week award goes to And The Winners Are for the second week running as they picked up a maximum six points from their two games, scoring twelve and conceding none.

Week 8 of the Serie is catch up week, with any games that can be rearranged being played to get the leagues as level as possible heading into the Christmas break. Due to some teams being involved in more than one of these some results have already been resolved as Walkovers, with Barlows Big Boys, Ay Bird FC and Ale Madrid all picking up three points through this. In the three games that do take place 2 Goals 1 Cup play back to back games against H What FC and Ale Madrid before Ay Bird FC play the last game of the year against Schneefers.
