Week 14 Bundesliga Team Of the Week Inter de Nott

Summary of the action from Week 14 of NTU's Bundesliga 5-A-Side competition

In an act of symmetry Week 14 provided 14 competitive games across the two Bundesliga's, with two lost games being due to Fat Bagz and Baines ON Toast's unavailability which handed three points each to Inter Mi-Nan and Exeter Gently.

The 2. Bundesliga went with form in all three of the games played. Surreal Madrid got their second win of the season as they beat Pass To Stephen 5-1 to move away from the bottom of the table. Sapphic United got their fourth successive win in an impressive display as they The Best Choice Boys 6-1 to stay top of the table. The final game in the second division saw Bigshot United continue to climb back up the table after their 7-0 win over mid table rivals AFC Game, Set & Snatch.

The Bundesliga itself kicked off with a 3-0 win for The Chaps against an Ay Bird side high on confidence following their 7-2 win against NTU ISOC last week. ISOC themselves played in the very next game and their indifferent run of form continued as they were beaten 5-4 by the unfancied Harpins Boys, who got just their fourth win of the season in doing so.

Ginellies had debuted impressively last week in beating Exeter Gently 5-0 and continued to show their potential as they were involved in the high scoring game of the day, drawing 7-7 with a LEX side high on confidence after beating 5 Elite 10-0 last week. 5 Elite lurched from one defeat to another, this time against against ASE FC, though they did manage to get on the scoresheet in losing 9-1.

ASE FC's win put presuure on both of the teams involved in the 430 kick off, as table toppers Inter de Nott played third place CC Cosmos. The game was predictably tight, competitive and filled with technical ability throughout, but Inter de Nott showed the class that has seen them top the table from Week 4 onwards as they came from behind to win 3-2.

Week 14 closed out with Token Hotspur getting their first ever win in the league as they beat Cheer United 4-0, whilst Always On Top narrowly beat CYPS 5-4 to go level on points with their opponent.

The narrow wins for Harpins Boys and Always On Top would normally have put them firmly in the hunt for the Team of The Week Award.

However, due to the importance and quality of the game they were involved in Week 14's Team Of The Week award goes to Inter de Nott after their 3-2 win against title rivals CC Cosmos.

Week 15 sees twelve fixtures planned and also the Bundesliga reach the end of it's first phase of games. All the teams in the top league know that a win next week could be vital for them in gaining a higher seeding going into the final six games. Always On Top vs 5 Elite and ASE FC against new boys Ginellies are the highlight games here, whilst in 2. Bundesliga Fat Bagz vs The Best Choice Boys will see at least one of the two sides pick up their first points of the season.
