Week 18 Bundesliga Team Of the Week Sapphic United

Summary of the action from Week 18 of NTU's Bundesliga 5-A-Side competition

A mini-spate of team unavailability's led to only nine of the twelve scheduled games being completed in the Bundesligas in Week 18,

The first 2.Bundesliga game of the day was also one of the highest scoring as Ivory Toast bounced back from their heavy Week 17 loss to Inter Mi-Nan to beat an improving The Best Choice Boys 7-5.

The next game was possibly the most important one of the day in either league. Sapphic United came into their game with leaders Bigshot United knowing that a defeat would put a massive dent in their potential title aspirationas as it would leave Bigshot 6 points clear, though Sapphic would still have a game in hand. Sapphic were clearly buoyed by this and put in an impressive showing in winning 4-2 and inflict what was only Bigshot's second defeat of the season.

At 1pm The Best Choice Boys got only their second win of the season in their second game of the day, beating Don't Look Back In Wenger 8-1. The 2.Bundesliga games finished with Inter Mi-Nan winning 8-3 against AFC Game, Set & Snatch to move to the top of the league table for the first time this season.

In the Bundesliga the first game of the day was a friendly match between an understrength Ginellies and ASE FC, with ASE getting revenge for their shock defeat in Week 15 with a comprehensive 13-2 win. The upset of the day came at 3pm as Token Hotspur got back to back wins for the second time this year, following up their victory over Harpins Boys last week with a 5-3 win over top half of the table side LEX FC.

The rest of the days game went with league position. CC Cosmos kept their slim title hopes alive with a 7-0 drubbing of NTU ISOC, Always On Top kept up their run for a top four finish by beating Harpins Boys 7-3 and Inter de Nott maintained their five point gap at the top of the league by beating The Chaps 5-2.

Week 18's Team Of The Week Award goes to Sapphic United after their 4-2 win against title rivals Bigshot United saw them climb up to second in the 2.Bundesliga table and within touching distance of league leaders Inter Mi-Nan.

Week 19 promises to be a big week in both Bundesligas. In the second division the top three all face lower table opposition and will be looking to avoid any costly slip ups. In the first division the highlight game is league leaders Inter de Nott meeting third place CC Cosmos. A win is a necessity for Cosmos, as failure to do so will see them unable to win the league, whilst a win for Inter will all but assure them of the league title.
