Cartmel and District the leagues last remaining representative in the Lancashire Football Association Amateur Cup took the long journey to the Blackburn area to play Feniscowles and Pleasington. The Feniscowles side play in Division One of the East Lancashire League.
In the last round they had a good 3-1 win over New Longton Rovers
The Cartmel team was at full strength for the first time his season and were looking forward to play a team from 'way' after beating local side Cross Bay in the last round. The game against Feniscowles turned out to be a cracking cup match. Both sides played really good football on an excellent pitch and created ample chances at both ends. Feniscowles took the lead but as the game wore on Cartmel got on top and created enough chances to have won but were denied by an excellent keeper. The pressure put on by Cartmel eventually paid off when Jamie Chick scored a fantastic goal to equalise. There was enough time to find a winner with Cartmel going nearest when a shot from 20 yards hit an upright and went safe. With time up the game went to penalties. After losing on penalties last week Cartmel were
determined not to let the same thing happen and it turned out that way. The younger Cartmel side had to thank veteran keeper Andrew Kendal who made
two fantastic one handed saves to earn his side a deserved 3-1 victory and deny the home side and put Cartmel into the fourth round and last 16.
