The weeks match reports

RHFC maintain their 100% record on all fronts with this win against title challengers Radley thanks to a super Hat-rick from Jamie McMahon

A very young, fit and organised Radley were more than a match for The Hill in the first half going in 1-0 up at the break through Frankie Merola.

But, RHFC showed great spirit and also their seniority in a goal laden second half display started by a fine strike from Jack Hastings and then complimented by a fine hat trick from one of their youngsters, Jamie McMahon. Two further goals from James Ford wrapped things up leaving Rose Hill on top of the league with a game in hand.

Chalgrove came out on top in a competitive fixture between two of the league’s form teams. It was Chalgrove who took the lead mid-way through the first half when Peter Clarke broke the deadlock after his quick free-kick left Blackbirds keeper Scott James stranded. Chalgrove then pressed for a second but the AFC Blackbirds defence stood firm and the sides went in to half-time with just a goal between them. The visitors came out strongly in the second half and despite dominating possession were unable to find the equaliser and this cost them as Jamie Foy hit an unstoppable drive to give Chalgrove a 2-0 lead on the hour. Blackbirds were far from out of this game though and soon pulled a goal back when Aston Shaw rose to head home from a left-wing cross to setup a frantic finish to the game. The deciding goal would go to the hosts however as a Simon Godfrey penalty provided Chalgrove with the breathing space they needed to see the game out and pickup a valuable 3 points.
