AFC Carnforth and Shaw Heath got safely through their first round ties in the H. English Mem Trophy. Carnforth were at home to the unbeaten leaders of Div. Three White Hart. Carnforth came out on top, only the heroics of White Hart’s keeper Andy McFall kept the final score-line down to a respective 4-0 loss. Jack Taylor and Joe Knight managed to beat McFall for the two first half goals. Leon Murphy from the penalty spot, and Matt Broady completing the scoring in the second half. It was a much closer result in the Bramhall North 75 v Shaw Heath game. From start to finish it was a good open game. After a number of exchanges Shaw Heath went ahead with a Tom Leach goal. On the stroke of half time after the visitors keeper failed to hold onto Martin Lennon’s free kick team mate Will McGrath tapped home the equaliser. Spurred on by their goal Bramhall started the second half on top and went in front through Lennon, who cashed in on Shaw Heath’s failure to clear their lines. The scores were levelled when Niall White found the back of the home net with his shot. With the game evenly balanced and looking as if it would have to go to penalties, a free kick was given on the edge of the Bramhall penalty area, with the last kick of the match Kieran Mills decided the issue with an unstoppable free kick.

Due to the cup games, plus the Nth Reddish WMC v Littlemoor game called off due to the non- appearance of the referee, only three games were played in Div. One. Leaders Offerton Green hit Sto. Cosmos with a ten goal salvo, Jordy McNally, Dieter Downey and new signing Jordan Butler, equally shared six of the goals, matt Teasdale, Kris Fawcett Niall Brooks and Paul Wadsworth with the best goal of the game adding the other four. Brinnington Blues stay second following their 5-1 win away at Adswood Utd. They led at half time with a goal apiece from Kaleem Sheriff and m-o-m James Newell. Before Adswood managed to score their lone reply, Kyle Dunkerley and Harry Carruthers, had doubled Brinny’s score. Gordon Beattie, ended the scoring with his goals. Reddish North End Albion, showed their potential with a confident win at home against Cheadle FC, the visitors looking disjointed against the organised home side who had the bar to thank for keeping out Danny Barratt’s shot in the very first minute. At the other end Ray Donnelly got down well to his right to keep out Jordan Tully’s free kick. Midway in the first half the Cheadle defence fell asleep failed to clear the danger allowing Barratt to virtually walk the ball into the empty net to open the scoring. Playing with confidence Reddish spoilt some good approach play with poor final passes. Minutes before half time, Jake Humphries should have done better with a close range header from Regan Mannion’s cross, but a minute later team-mate Colt Morrisey took his chance well to double the score. Within a couple of minutes of the second half, Barratt got his second with a shot which Cheadle’s keeper Gary Lyons should have kept out. Tully could have done better with a shot he blazed over the home bar. Just over the hour Connor Hughes’s shot was deflected into the net giving Lyon’s no chance. Hughes put through by Regan Mannion saw his goal bound shot again taking a deflection but this time going out for a corner. In the last couple of minutes home keeper Harry Donnelly, was brought into action keeping out two Adam Stuart efforts.

It wasn’t a good day for the Sto. Cosmos club, their second team the Colts, who also conceded double figures without reply in their home game against the Div. two leaders Sth. Manchester. It was 7-0 at half time, top scorer was Will McInerney with four, Alex Patton and PJ Butler two apiece, Jayden bailey< Declan Walsh, and Craig Richardson sharing the others. Lee Plummer Sth Manchester’s secretary was full of praise for the losers, saying they never gave up at any time during the game. Second placed Cheadle Heath Ath took the point’s home in a close match with Lostock Rangers who took the lead credited to Ioan Dascalu who may have just got the last touch. The lead did not last long, Ian Kewley putting his side level then Sam Marshall from the edge of the box put Cheadle in front before the half time whistle. Mike Brown, added a third early in the second half. Mitch Whittle scored from the penalty spot to reduce the arrears, he then had a chance to equalise but shot wide. It was left to Cheadle’s keeper Cameron Gresty, who made a point blank save from Ethan Cale, to win his side the points in a hard fought game. Hr. Poynton found the back of Sto. Cty Supporters net seven times and kept theirs clean, mainly because at times County created chances, but failed take them. Top scorer Jason Leach scored the first three goals then limped off with a ham string problem Ethan Toft took his place, and with his first touch scored the fourth. Matt Ramshead via a deflection added the fifth before half time. Ben Foley and Toft with his second contribution were the scorers in a more even second half. Wythenshawe Ams lost by the odd goal of five at home to Inter Didsbury FC. Inter took the lead, Josh Abbott made it all square from close range, but, by half time Didsbury added two more from an O.G and a free kick. Josh Abbott was unlucky with a shot that came back of the post and was cleared. Harry Maylett reduced the arrears but Didsbury held on to take the points.

Well Sto. Cosmos’s third team the Orions not only saved a club whitewash but their win away at Man. & Chorlton puts them top of Div. Three. James Burns and Chrissy Grant the scorers, Tom Hargreaves, header from Dapo Alli’s corner Chorlton’s only reply. In the only other game AFC Didsbury Villa won 4-1 at home against Northenden FC who just about managed to get eleven players on the pitch. Northenden’s lone goal came from a run out of defence by Rory Platt, his cross founding the makeshift striker Harry price to score from close range.
