JFA Combination League is delighted to announce a new U12 Girls Development Division for the 2022-23 season.

The Jersey Football Association (JFA) has today (29 June 2022) is pleased to announce that a new Under 12 Girls Development Division will be included with the JFA Combination League for next season.

Launching in October 2022, the new Girls Development Division will include U12 teams from Rozel Rovers, JTC Jersey Wanderers and St Lawrence FC, with regular fixtures and round robin festivals hosted on a Saturday morning.

“It is fantastic news that we have a dedicated Development Division for girls’ football within our competition programme for the first time in Jersey. Girls’ teams have been playing within mixed football for several seasons and this next step, highlights the progression through local club’s female provisions for minis and juniors,” said JFA Football Services Manager Jonathan Le Fondre. “The development that has been completed in Clubs has been fantastic and this has been down to the hard work of volunteers and the dedicated support from Lucy Even (JFA Community Coach – Women & Girls).”

Part of the JFA strategy is to increase participation within the female game. This progression has been part of a journey starting 6 years ago, through multiple recreational opportunities including the Weetabix Wildcat Centres (ages 5-11), Squad Girl’s Football (ages 11-14) and Girls School Festivals, along with dedicated sessions for Girls within the JFA Community Programme.
