Hampshire FA
Return to Football Initiative

Fans and players all over the world will be looking forward to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil with much excitement and we hope that this will generate significant interest in the National Game and football locally.
To build on this interest, Hampshire FA is launching a new initiative – Return to Football – aimed at players who have been under suspension for more than 12 months. There is currently in excess of 3000 players on suspension in Hampshire for unpaid disciplinary monies. In many cases these outstanding monies include late fines which have been imposed for non-payment.
The Return to Football initiative will offer suspended players the opportunity to have late fines removed which will hopefully encourage them to return to playing football. Original fines imposed will remain in force and will be payable prior to any suspension being lifted. The Return to Football initiative will run for the duration of the 2014 FIFA World Cup (12 June – 13 July 2014).
The adult 11v11 game has been in decline in recent years and the Return to Football initiative will be one tool we will be using to encourage players to return to this format of the game - and others including small sided – to support local leagues and clubs.
We will be promoting the Return to Football initiative during the World Cup but we are seeking your support to give prior notice to your member clubs in advance.
