Match report for Anfield Floodlit League games played on 4/12/15

AFC Cronus 2:4 Kinno FC

In a cold, windy night at the Anfield Sports Centre, AFC Cronus and Kinno FC, were the first teams to start 6th week of the LCFA Floodlit League. Kinnos’ players started the game well, with a first chance just after few seconds, but first shot of the game went wide. After to minutes, opponents responded with a shot on target, however shot hadn’t have enough power to face the wind and goalkeeper. Four minutes later, they took the lead with a brilliant finish, 1:0 for AFC Cronus! For the next 10 minutes, both teams were fighting in the middle of the pitch, trying to get closer to the goal, but all the attacks were missing final pass. Kinno FC were close to score their first goal of the night after corner, where Cronus’s players were looking for a hand ball, however good eye of referee let the play carry on.
After 15 minutes from the first whistle, Kinno FC scored their first goal, after shot from outside the penalty box, goalkeeper was unable to catch the ball or push it wide, and the ball end up at the back of the net, 1:1! Few minutes later, we had a fantastic chance for away team, Cronus stopped the attack well and produced brilliant counter-attack, stopped by even better save from goalkeeper. What a save! Kinno’s goalkeeper said before the game that he is not a goalkeeper, and there was no volunteer on goal, so he had to stay, great decision! 10 minutes before final whistle Cronus had chance to take the lead again, unfortunately for them, they hit the post from the penalty kick and ball went away from goal. Five minute later Kinno FC scored again. Great cross from the left side into the far post, where one player headed the ball across the goal, where another player score with a header. Huge explosion of happiness, 2:1 for Kinno! In this moment, our reporter disappear from the pitch to sort the kits for the next game, when he came back, the result was… 2:4! In last 5 minutes, Kinno scored twice and Cronus responded with 1 goal. Final result AFC Cronus 2: 4 Kinno FC, “Football, bloody hell”!

AFC Stanley Park 2:4 West Derby County
This game started with a little delay due to rare situation, both teams had the same kit. As the LFCA was not prepare for that kind of scenario, happily AFC Stanley Park was ok to cooperate and they were playing with the dark colour jumpers. Uffff… Let’s start. In first couple of minutes West Derby County were dominant side, however all their shots were off target. Missed chance went against them, when Stanley Park scored after absolutely wonderful goal from 30 yards, over the goalkeeper, what a strike that was! Unfortunately for them that was the only positive for next 25 minutes, as West Derby County scored three times, last goal from a penalty spot. Penalty taken by the West’s captain. Few minutes before the end of the game, West Derby County produced amazing team play which, would put aside famous FC Barcelona. Wonderful combination play in the middle of the pitch, take the ball into the penalty area and…. Missed from 10 yards, ohhhh! Before final whistle each team scored again, and the final result was AFC Stanley Park 2:4 West Derby County.

Mayfield 2:5 Townsey

Last game of the night. Teams apart the opponents had to face stronger wind as well. First punch of the game has been made by Mayfield who scored after 5 minutes. Great striker with a little help of the wind, made impossible for goalkeeper to stop the shot. Just 6 minutes later impossible happen… Townsey’s right fullback receive the ball on the halfway line and… decided to have shot on goal, and he scored! What a goal, 1:1. Soon, Townsey scored again to make it 1:2, however result could be already 1:3, but fantastic double save by Mayfield’s keeper prevent conceding another goal. Before half time Townsey had another chance to score after a long forward pass in the air, striker head it back for a midfield who sent the ball just wide. Three minutes into the second half Mayfield’s defender believe in his dribbling skills, unfortunately for him, he lost the possession and opponent immediately after regaining possession decide to chip the goalkeeper from 30 yards, beautiful strike, 1:3. Ten minutes of the second half and Townsey score another absolutely amazing goal from a long distance near the far post, goalkeeper make everything to stop that shot but had no chance for it, fourth goal for Townsey. Before end of the game away team managed to score their fifth goal of the day, however last word had a Mayfield team, who score their second goal from a penalty kick just before the final whistle. Mayfield opened and closed bag with the goals, however, between they managed to concede 5. Final result Mayfield 2:5 Townsey.
