Saturday 6th October Match Report

The game of the day in the South Liverpool Junior League was a top of the table clash in the U13 division. Leaders Pex Hill went in to the game against second placed Bleak Hill Rovers with a 100% record. A tom Baines goal for Bleak Hill made sure that and end to end clash was level at half time. Pex Hill drove forward in the second half and ensured some excellent saves from the Bleak Hill keeper before Christian Cox sealed the game 2-1 for Bleak Hill when he converted a penalty. Woolton routed a plucky Rosemount 15-4 thanks to four goals from Matty Evans, braces from Will Dunne (the divisions top scorer), Owen Hollywell , Kieran O’Mara and Adam Washington and a Kieran Moran strike. The Rosemount goals came from Matty Hardwick (2), Daniel Hannah and Jake O’Shea. Geneva edged out Marshalls Barkhill 4-3 thanks to two goals from Liam Bott and one apiece from Luke Campbell and Jack Gamble. St Annes won a close game against Whiston Juniors 4-0. In a tight first half with both teams having chances and some great saves by both goalkeepers the
first half ended goalless. In the second half St.Annes took the lead through a Jack Wilkinson free kick followed by two further two goals from Sam Scarth. Callum Stephens finished the goal scoring with a glancing header. Elsewhere FC Start (a Chris Tollitt hattrick, two from Sam Smith and one each from Sean Heeney and Sean Marsh) beat Oasis 7-2.

In the U16 Division Netherley WLL remain unbeaten after Michael Baker struck twice in their 2-1 win over Home Bargain. Wolves beat Woolton 4-2 and Beechside (James Burns and Connor McEvoy) beat Halewood Town 2-0.

In the U12 division Prescot Cables thrashed Chelwood Rangers 10-0 thanks to a Daniel kennedy hattrick, two from Caleb Jones and strikes from Oliver Hunt, Lewis Moore, Luke Tomlinson, Jack Van Asten and Jamie Winstanley. Luke Livingstone scored all three in Chelwood Spartans 3-0 win over Allerton
