Saturday 20th October Match Report

In the U13 division of the South Liverpool Junior League Bleak Hill Rovers remain top but were made to work hard for their 5-2 win over lowly Marshalls Barkhill. In the end two goals from Alxi Mellor and one apiece from Isaac Appleton, Alex Hart and Luke Stephani won the day. Woolton are chasing hard and remain the only unbeaten team in the division after their 4-1 win over Pex Hill. A bright start from Woolton saw them go into a two goal lead thanks to goals from Matty Evans and Ben White. Late in the first half the divisions top scorer Will Dunne made it three. Pex Hill replied immediately only for Will Dunne to wrap things up in the dying minutes. Elsewhere Marshalls Saffron Korie nabbed himself a hat trick in their 4-0 win over FC Start, Harry Taylor scoring the other goal. Whiston Juniors and Prescot Cables played out a cracker with Whiston racing into a two goal lead before Prescot came from behind to lead before two late goals from Whiston saw the game end 4-3 in their favour. Jack Gamble scored both of Genevas goals in their 2-1 win over Hurricanes.

In the U11 division Marshalls remain top despite losing their 100% record after going down 2-1 to Westmoor. Chelwood Rangers (two from Nial Monahan and one from Liam Park) are unbeaten in second spot after their 3-0 defeat of Finn Harps. Elsewhere Vale and Mossley Hill drew 2-2.

In the U12 division prescot Cables are top after beating Bleak Hill Rovers 5-1. Two goals from Jack Van Aston, one apiece from joint division top scorers Caleb Jones and Jamie Winstanley and a Daniel Kennedy strike won the game. Chelwood Spartans edged out Woolton Vikings 2-1 thanks to strikes from Joe Barlow and Lewis Ferans and the Chelwood derby was won by Chelwood Tarways 5-2 against Chelwood Rangers.

In the U16 division leaders Mossley Hill had a field day against lowly Woolton, winning 10-1 thanks to braces from Liam Moran, Ryan Pointon, Rob Schenck and Callum Smith. Harry Brady and Matty Read also netted. New boys Westgarth dropped their first points after drawing 1-1 with Halewood Town. Home Bargain and Marshalls ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
