Week 1

The 2015/16 South Liverpool Junior League got off to an exciting start on Saturday with games from Under 11 up to Under 16. In the U11 Division new boys Paschals and Royal Standard fought out a five goal thriller with Pachals (a man down) edging the game 3-2 thanks to goals from Daniel Davenport, Joe Grace and Ruben Muscatelli.

In the U12 Division Kingsthorne beat Litherland Remyca Rebels 10-0 with the free scoring Reece Loupe nabbing five, Harry Hall two and Jake Chamberlain and James Kennah also getting on the score sheet. Litho and Springwood ended all square at 0-0 and Woolton Corinthians beat Kingsley Utd 10-0.

In the U13 Division FC Start were unfortunate to come up against a free scoring Marshalls going down 14-0. Xenon Bahula netted eight, Adam Pickering two and Bobby Brennan, James Hull, Michael Orme and Finlay Pearce also netted.

In the U14 Division Marshalls Rosemont’s season got off to a great start with Kieran Flemming scoring a hat trick on his debut and skipper Will Saunders also scoring as they beat Xhelwood Westwood 4-1. James Rossiter Coan was on target as Mac Northstar drew 1-1 with Mossley Hill. Elsewhere Runcorn Linnets edged out Prescot Rangers 2-0.

In the U15 Division the Chelwood derby was won by Spartans who beat Tarways thanks to goals from Lucas Halewood (2), Andy Delaney and Lewis Fearns. Gateacre (two from Cole Fowlis and one from Jack Cooper) beat Marshalls 3-1. Woolton Sharks and Bleak Hill Rovers drew 3-3 in a thriller. Bleak Hill were two up after ten minutes before Sharks responded with a headed finish by Nathan Devers followed by a strike from Thomas Keeley. They were then in front from an own goal before a second half equaliser from Bleak Hill meant that honours remained even.

In the U16 Division Geneva (two from Alex Jones and one from Liam Bott) drew 3-3 with Kingsley Utd and FC Start beat Rosemont Athletic 4-1. Whiston edged out Tricorn Hotel 5-3 thanks to goals from Jordan Davis, John Morgan, Josh Nugent, Harry Nulty and Joel Smith. Elsewhere Woolton beat Rosemont 13-0
