Sophie made history by becoming the “first-ever female” official to be appointed to a "Wakefield & District Sunday Football League" Cup Final on Sunday 14th April in the PREMIERSHIP ONE LEAGUE CUP FINAL between Peacock & Shepherds Arms.

Having been recently promoted to the Senior County Referee's list (Level 5), Sophie has progressed through the promotion system showing great ability and confidence. She has officiated in many different league’s and Cup game's including The Women’s FA Cup and has shown that she has the potential to reach higher levels within the referee pathway.

Having officiated well, it came as no great surprise that Sophie had been appointed to this high profile fixture and has became the “first female official” to be appointed to a "Wakefield & District Sunday Football League" Cup Final, a historical appointment and well deserved.

Sophie also act as a mentor to newly qualified referee’s which demonstrates her commitment to the development of new referee's.

Sophie’s reaction to being appointed as a match official for the “Wakefield & District Sunday Football Leagues’ PREMIERSHIP ONE LEAGUE CUP FINAL was, “Absolutely delighted”. She received a good round of applause from all the spectator’s post the Premiership One League Cup final ceremonies.
