Blades Lifted by United Withdrawal

Most of the planned matches were postponed on Sunday due to the torrential rain over the previous few days, writes Tony Spencer. One of the games that didn't actually take place did at least end in a positive result. Drawn at home in the second round of the Hampshire Sunday Junior A Cup, RAF Odiham Blades were due to entertain Horndean United, but the visitors called off the match being unable to field a team, so by default the Blades glide smoothly into round 3.

DG Athletic travelled to Andover League side AFC Wolversdene A in the North Hants John Ward Cup and beat them 1-2. This was a tremendous result, being their very first away win of the season, thanks to goal scorers Liam Rump and Charlie Todd.

Andover RBL beat Eastrop Eagles 3-1, with Eagles' single reply coming from Tom Kelly.

Hosts Welcome Stranger were beaten 0-5 by Team FC. A fantastic result which extends their fine run of form, now unbeaten in five games.

One fixture in the Bernard Cornish Cup was staged, with Oakley Reserves achieving their first home win of the season, with a 5-0 result against Chineham Reserves. Liam Dalton scored one and Russell Smith found the net four times.

The was just the one league match played, in Division 1, with Kaiser Wessex beaten 1-2 at home by Oakley.
