Week 5

Due to a number of the County Senior League teams taking part in County Cup competition it was a slightly less congested league schedule than we are used to of late, however 14 league games were still on the slab this past week.
Premier Division
Swinton Athletic are the new leaders in the Premier Division, after a 3-1 away win over Frecheville Davys. Swinton are still the only undefeated team in the
Premier Division.
Last year's runner's up Dodworth Miners Welfare are just a point behind the leaders in fifth place, after a 1-0 away win over Jubilee Sports. Jubilee had come into the game on the back of back-to-back wins, after 2-1 home win over Burngreave FC midweek. Burngreave's difficult start to the season continued on Saturday, as they fell to their 6th straight defeat, a 4-2 loss to AFC Penistone Church.

Grimethorpe LLFC continued their good start to the season with an emphatic 6-0 home win over High Green Villa. Grimethorpe have won three of their first four games.

On Saturday at Park Road, Oughtibridge WMSC were held to a 2-2 draw by mid-table side Wakefield AFC.

Division One
League leaders Wombwell Town made it five wins from five in a rare Tuesday night game in the County Senior League. Wombwell were 5-2 winners over United Worksop. Worksop bounced back immediately as they recorded their first win of the season on Saturday, a 1-0 away win over Ardsley Athletico.

Wombwell Main Development are up to third place, after a 4-2 victory over Sheffield Union on Saturday. Kiveton Park are just a point behind in fourth place, after a 3-3 draw with South Kirkby Colliery.

Division Two
Two goals from Mark Lynch inspired new league leaders South Elmsall United Services to a 3-1 away win over Sheffield FC Reserves. Sheffield were the previous leaders, but South Elmsall inch ahead on goal difference.

Burngreave FC Reserves recorded their first win of the season with an impressive 5-3 win over Thurcroft Miners Institute at the Thurcroft Hub.

Goals from Joshua Chappell and Sam Garforth gave Houghton Main Reserves a 2-0 win over Athersley Recreation Reserves at Sheerien Park.
