Ray runs a company called just for keepers organising goalkeeper courses. Ray explained that they run an intense two week course which he offered free to every team in the league for over 16’s which they could arrange for two Saturday mornings. All he asked in return was to use pictures of each keeper on the course for advertising on the website. Ray talked about goalkeeper gloves the company had designed which are the same specification as Adidas / Nike which cost £50, theirs cost just £20. The company offer free e-mail support and promised to answer any questions put to them regarding goalkeeping issues. The company put money back into the local area notably alder hay hospital.

Ray thanked the meeting for listening and hoped teams would join the free course.
Ron thanked Ray and the floor gave him a round of applause Ray then left the meeting.

2. FIXTURE’S DAN PENNINGTON.
Dan started to talk about fixtures…

INTERUPTION TO THE MEETING

Bernard from Norris Green stood and asked “are we going to have the minutes from the last meeting?” Ron asked John if he had them, John apologized he had not brought them along, John said to Bernard that he had explained to him before the meeting and apologized to him that he had not put them on the website but he would by the next night, Bernard said this should be done and the committee need to get their act together. John, along with the Committee agreed and once again apologized to the floor.

Tony Mullane stood up and offered support to Bernard over the minutes issue and said he had some concerns about the MCL committee and informed the floor that the Liverpool FA had issues with the MCL. Ron confirmed that there are no problems with the MCL and FA, Ron is in regular contact with the FA and there are no issues or problems. Ron suggested that if Tony had an issue he raised it privately with the Committee and it could be rectified.

The committee confirmed that they will do their best to get the minutes on the website within a week of the meeting.

Back to Fixtures… Dan continued explaining we have had a lot of postponements due to the weather, he asked team manager’s to see if when they had a free week for one reason or another which may be down to their opponents playing rearranged cup games i.e. national/trophy if they noticed a fixture which they could play to let him know (in case he had missed it himself) and he will try to arrange the game. Do everything right to make sure everything goes well for the day and leaves a lasting and good impression on your opponents and guests about the MCL. Any postponements / re-arranged games in the National Cup must be relayed to Dan so he can re-arrange / postpone league games. National Cup games take priority but please give as much notice to Dan so he can try and re-arrange a game for your league opponents when you are involved in the National Cup/Trophy.

ANY QUESTIONS FROM THE FLOOR TO DAN… NO QUESTIONS

6. REFEREES
John asked managers that if they arrange a friendly could they contact him for a ref and not get one themselves. The reason for this is we want to keep the ref panel that we have worked hard to build and sometimes we do have spare refs so by giving them a regular game, even friendlies, keeps everyone happy.

John thanked everyone for their help.

ANY QUESTIONS FOR JOHN… NO QUESTIONS

7. CONDUCT
Ron spoke about the declining behaviour of some of the teams within the league, he went on to say that the leagues name is being tarnished and appealed to each and every team and managers to improve the reputation of the league and that each one of us has a responsibility to conduct in a right and proper way.
In 2006 14 points where raised regarding conduct and it seems that 3 years on we still have the same issues. We need to move forward but in the right direction which with the help of all the managers and Christian players/leaders, we will.

8. TREASURER
Arthur was not in attendance, no report to give. The committee will hold a meeting with regards to current Treasury position. The committee will advise the outcome.

9. FIRST AID COURSE
Ron gave out first aid certicate awarded to the successful candidates who attended and passed. Hannah from the FA was off sick so league couldn’t get the first aid kits will be forth coming. It was again offered to the floor to attend the next first aid course if anyone wanted and explained it only lasted 2 hrs. Jamie McVey speaks about his involvement in helping the league obtain chartered standard. Jamie says that teams have a huge responsibility to have a first aider and a first aid kit on the sidelines for every game played whether competitive, friendly or even training and explained that several other members of his club had also taken the first aider course and had also gained a certificate, he went on to say that he thought £22 represented excellent value for qualification and the first aid kit.
