MINUTES OF MCL MANAGER’S MEETING
DATE: 12th OCTOBER 2009
VENUE: Garston Bridge Chapel

WELCOME TO MEETING FROM RON CLAYTON

OPENING PRAYER FROM MATHEW SAVAGE

APOLOGIES: GRACE, NORRIS GREEN, MEOLS.

1. COUNTY DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – HANNAH SIMPSON
SENIOR FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT OFFICER – JACK WALTON
TALKING ABOUT STANDARD CHARTER AND FIRST AID COURSE
Hannah talks about the teams applying for the charter standard status, teams need to be affiliated to the county FA and to have a first aid certificate, each team would benefit from £100 in the form of a voucher to spend on sporting goods, but for the scheme to go ahead will need 60% of teams to apply. Jack said the county would put on first aid course’s for teams to gain there first aid certificate’s which would be done at a small cost of £11 a person or £22 a person plus a first aid pack. Ron Clayton offered the Elim centre for the course, a show of hands revealed a good deal of interest. Jack explained the course could be set up for whatever date we wanted, would take 3 hrs and last for 3 years. The £100 voucher was one per club.

2. THE DRAW FOR THE AKEJU CUP
The draw was made and referees appointed

3. PROPOSAL FOR NEW CUP COMP.
The new competition is for the teams knocked out of the Akeju cup plus opened up for any teams to put a second team. Passed unanimous by the floor

4. NATIONAL CUP / TROPHY.
Ron explained none of the Trophy sides were drawn together, but because of the number of teams that had entered the Cup some of our teams had been drawn against each other. He also confirmed that Atlantic Electrical had been entered into the cup and not the trophy. The draw would be on website tonight or tomorrow he has been promised by the Christian’s in football national cup committee

5. FIXTURES
Dan asked teams to text in results asap, but not to send him details of the goal scorers as teams can do that themselves on the web site for there own teams and anyone needing any help to do this give him a call and he will take them through the process which is very easy. He also asked that if you are in a national cup comp could you phone him ASAP so he can keep website results up to date. Dan also reminded teams they have to give 4 weeks to postpone a game.

6. REFEREES
John reiterated that teams must keep following the procedure of confirming the game with referee as early as possible and if no luck with referee to contact him by Wednesday if referee unavailable or cannot be contacted to give him time to arrange a replacement. Also he explained that if teams did not contact the referee on a regular basis he would take there referee off them if he was short and give to another team who does follow the correct procedure, the reason for this was “I am constantly contacted by referees asking if have they got a game or not” as nobody has contacted them so please make sure you all confirm your game. John also told each club to see him at end of meeting for their referee for the cup game, which was drawn at the beginning of the meeting.

7. PAPERWORK
Ron; team sheets had to be in by the following Wednesday after the Saturday game fully completed if not fine’s will be given to offending teams.
