Third time's a charm for The Bell

BECKTON GAS 0 - 3 THE BELL

The Bell went into this Final with defeat still fresh in their minds. After two previous final defeats the players were determined to make amends and put the name of The Bell on a trophy, however a resurgent Beckton Gas stood in their way. The game started with some early robust challenges with both teams creating early chances, with the Beckton keeper first to be tested.
A moment of vision and skill opened the scoring; Scott Evans produced a sublime lob from the edge of the area with the Beckton keeper advancing off his line. The Bell now had their passing game in full effect. Evans then added a second (amazingly theses were his first finals goals in 9 appearances) with a thunder bolt from 30 yards which left the Gas goal keeper grasping at thin air. Beckton struggled to make any serious impression with what possession they had.
The game was effectively over at the half when moments before the whistle Bell skipper Darren Holtom flicked on a quick throw, allowing Jamie Woods to coolly beat the keeper.
The second half was a much more malign affair with the only chances of note coming from the veteran mid fielder Tyler Lawrence and Dave Appanah. Beckton rarely threatened but a long range effort produced a few moments of pressure when The Bell keeper push the ball over the bar instead of making the routine catch.
At the final whistle The Bell got their hands on the cup.
