Nichols Cup Final

Talbot moved one step closer to a League and cup treble with this comprehensive win over
Paragon. Talbot took charge and took the lead early in the first half, this spurred Paragon but the men in yellow were still finding it hard to find their passing and created very little dispite the best efforts of skipper Grant Banks. The front pair of Seon Stanton & Stefan Gorecki toiled but any threat to the Talbot goal was mopped up by the impressive central defensive partnership of Antony Leader and Dan Brown. The pressure on the Paragon Defense told and Talbot took a two goal lead into the half, with the second coming on the stroke of half time.
Paragon seemed fired up at the start of the second half, but any hope seemed to fade with a third from Talbot 's Antony Leader . Although Talbot seemed in cruise mode the dangerous winger Craig Mcnutt was introduced by Paragon. His impact was immediate and his well taken strike pulled Paragon back into the game. Talbot stamped their authority back on the game with two more goals from Lee Pine and Chris Hobday to put them back in the comfort zone. A late strike from Stefan Gorecki gave Paragon a glimmer of hope. But the day belonged to Talbot.
