Walking Football joint initiative between Sat League and TVBC,

Following the extremely successful rollig out of Walking Football by the FA across the country, the local Sat League decided enough talking had gone on and action was necessary!
So with co-operation from Test Valley B.C. and especially Laura Jones, it all took off on Jan 12th 2016 at the Leisure Centre in Andover.
The concept is simple - it is as it says 'walking', no running, no tackling, and at a pace that guys who once 'graced' our local football pitches in the past, could turn back the clock and have another go!
It has been a story of success! The Mayor of Test Valley, Iris Anderson, came to the first 'taster' session and a total of 17 came on the first night, and again the next week with some not being able to make it that night, and intentions from various sources seem like 'the only way is up!!'
Support from the County FA has been well received with balls and input from the County Education Administrtor, Ellie Hellyer, who took on the role of a brief warm up on the frist tow sessions and promise of further support should be ever need it.
How it will eventually develop depends on those who come. At the moment it's a fun social night around the 'beautiful' game but could well develop into a more competitive edge as things progress.
Tuesday evenings is the time 5.40 -6.40pm , Andover Leisure Centre the place, ages from 50 upwards, and don't be put off - our best so far as 79!!
