Summary of Week 5.

A brief summary of Week 5 on season 2010.First Rounds of Cup fixtures.

Only the 2 games played in the Premier Division due to Quilligans withdrawal and Fleece vs Wyre Villa being re-arranged.Goosnargh have taken over at the top after a resounding 5-2 win away at Dunsop Raiders.Catforth & Hoghton fought out a tough 3-3 game played in great spirit.
P.A.H. stay ahead of the chasing pack with a good 3-0 win away at FC Barton,Udderseenus lead the rest after a thumping 12-0 win at home to Ribchester.CCA stay unbeaten in third spot after a tough 3-2 away win at Goosnargh 2nd's,they have 3 games in hand as well so the next 4 games are vital as they will play the top two teams twice in that period.Pilling got there first win with a 2-0 win at Chipping,who themselves are still waiting on that first elusive win.
Just the one League game in Div Two East due to cup matches etc.,Goosnargh 3rd's came out on top against local rivals Chipping Res. 2-1 in a good game.
In Div Two West Bilsborrow drew 3-3 with Norcross / Warbreck in a good competitive game,Stable Bar gained their first win with a solid 3-1 win away at Fulwood P.R.
The Barron Cup kicked off with some entertaining and close finishing fixtures .. win of the round was P.A.H. at home to Wyre Villa,a 4-3 outcome,CCA pushed Catforth all the way,eventually Catforth winning with the last kick of the game,6-5.Fleece Inn were also pushed all the way by Udderseenus,Fleece eventually winning 5-3 on penalties after the final score was 3-3.Hoghton beat Ribchester 2-1,Dunsop Raiders beat FC Barton,again a close game,3-2 and Pilling gained a bye after Quilligans withdrawal.The remaining 2 fixtures will be played on the 3rd & 10th June respectively.
In the Preliminary fixtures of the Hargreaves / Billington Cups .. Norcross / Warbreck defeated Spartak Fulwood 5-1,FC Newton won at Deepdale Dynamos 4-2,Brockholes Res defeated Grimsargh 6-2,and Fulwood P.R beat a resolute Inter Marina team,4-2.
