Wensleydale with 5 regular players missing and outfield player Callum Stanger having to deputize in goal, started well against a well organised Richmond team with good early pressure again from the two wide midfield players Josh King and Bradley Spinks.
Josh King was rewarded a free kick after 10 minutes which he finished chipping both the Richmond wall and keeper from 20 yards (1-0).
More pressure from Wensleydale on the counter attack allowed Fergus Chapman to break free and finish past the Richmond keeper(2-0).
Richmond then rallied putting the Wensleydale stand in keeper Callum Stanger under pressure and were soon rewarded with a goal (2-1).
More pressure from Richmond and within 5 minutes the game was all square at (2-2).
Wensleydale then replied just before half time with great work from Sam Terry and a superb finish by Josh king to make it (3-2).
Changes at half time including a new keeper with Fergus Chapman swapping from his forward position into goal and bringing on George Battersby to strengthen the midfield had an immediate affect in the second half with some good attacking play.
More hard work down the right hand side from Josh king allowed him to break through the Richmond defence and score his hat trick and Wensleydales fourth (4-2).
Richmond replied again with an excellent finish from 20 yards to make it (4-3).
More pressure from Richmond and soon after they were rewarded a penalty which was brilliantly saved by stand in keeper Fergus Chapman.
Wensleydale then countered with good work from Brandon Acton and Josh King which ended with an own goal by Richmond (5-3).
Richmond then replied late into injury time to make the final score 5-4 to Wensleydale.
