FREETHORPE FC NATIONAL CHARTER STANDARD ADULT CLUB OF THE YEAR

On Saturday four members of Freethorpe F.C, Stephen Smith Club secretary, Marcus Smith1st team manager, Lee Bristeru10s manager, Danny Brister u10s player attended Old Trafford as guests of the F.A.
Stephen and Marcus attended a presentation lunch at the Renaissance Manchester Hotel where they were presented with a cheque for £300 and F.A momentos. F.A National Development Manager Les Howie chaired the presentation where Freethorpe were awarded The F.A Charter Standard Adult Club of the season 03/04 National Award.
Prior to the game Danny Brister spent the morning at Old Trafford rehearsing his duties of carrying out the fair play flag. It was a proud and emotional moment when Danny with the other children carried the flag beside David Beckham on to the pitch for the pre-match presentations.
At half time Freethorpe F.C club secretary Stephen Smith was presented with the award plaque by Sir Trevor Brooking and Sir Geoff Hurst on the pitch.
Stephen was proud and honoured to be Freethorpe F.C representative to accept the award on behalf of everyone at Freethorpe F.C. In the last 18 months the whole club has worked tremendously hard modernising, developing and improving the club to benefit the whole community. The ultimate aim of the club is to provide football for everyone, for life.Incorporating a rural community training facility.
