AFC Middleton v Hazel Grove FC

Following last weeks MEN Final in which AFC Middleton claimed a narrow hard fought victory of 1-0, both teams met again in a play off fixture to decide who would be the MSMFL Champions for 2017/18.
Again it was a hard fought competitive game with neither team able to break the deadlock during the 90 minutes. The game then went to penalties with Hazel Grove converting their first 4 penalties while the opposition could only manage to score 2, giving Hazel Grove the first division trophy to go with the Steeles Shield.
Congratulations to both teams for providing a highly competitive and entertaining game.
Next season should see both teams again competing for honours but with the general improvement of teams in the league both teams will not have it their own way.
