Come the end of May, whether City will sit top of the Super League only time will tell but the Blues are well on the way to topping the division’s statistic charts.

Nick Cushing’s side are still alive in three competitions – the Super League, the Champions League and the FA Cup – and the figures for the league campaign have been impressive.

Opta crunched the numbers ahead of the weekend’s visit of Reading, with City occupying first place in nine categories – both on a collective level and for individual players.

Izzy Christiansen is the league’s top scorer with eight. The England midfielder sits one goal ahead of Beth England and has bagged 14 goals in all competitions for her Club this campaign. On average, she has scored a goal every 119.4 minutes.

Claire Emslie tops the assist chart with six – one ahead of Parris, while the Scottish winger also appears in the ‘chances created’ category with 25 behind Christiansen, who has two more. Parris sits third in the ‘attempted dribbles’ list with 48.

Cushing’s side dominate the passing stats, have made 5,960 passes in total and inhabiting the top four player spots, courtesy of Jen Beattie (815), Keira Walsh (735), Abbie McManus (659) and Christiansen (623). The Blues hold an average possession of 61.5% – the highest in the division – with a passing accuracy of 82%.
